Chinese Court Decision Summaries on Arbitration – KluwerArbitration.com

Chinese Court Decision Summaries on Arbitration is available in the database KluwerArbitration.com. This collection contains around 500 English summaries of Chinese court decisions concerning enforcement of arbitral awards, validity of arbitration clauses and annulment of arbitral awards. This collection is edited by WunschARB.

Each online summary starts with Case Data (an overview) containing key data about the decision, followed by a case summary with the following sections:
  • Synopsis
  • The contract and the dispute
  • Arbitration proceedings
  • Initiation of court proceedings and position of the parties
  • Court analysis
  • Decision of the court
  • Commentary

New Interface of WorldTradeLaw.net

WorldTradeLaw.net has recently upgraded its interface to provide both free resources and subscribed content in a user-friendly way.

WorldTradeLaw.net is a database of WTO reports and other international organisations documents. It provides the Dispute Settlement Commentary (DSC) service on subscription basis with:
·       Summary/analysis of new reports/arbitrations.
·       Summary/analysis of all past reports/arbitrations back to the establishment of the WTO.
·       Up-to-date keyword index, and updates of Commentaries for past reports/arbitrations to reflect new developments in WTO jurisprudence.
·       Database of WTO dispute settlement tables and statistics.

It also provides free resources including WTO/GATT documents, International Economic Law and Policy (IELP) Blog,  trade news etc.

The Hong Kong Solicitors' Guide to Professional Conduct (3rd Edition)

The print version of the 3rd Edition to The Hong Kong Solicitors' Guide to Professional Conduct (Volume 1) by the Law Society of Hong Kong is available at the Lee Quo Wei Law Library (Library record: http://library.cuhk.edu.hk/record=b5558348)

The Guide sets out the basic principles governing the practice of solicitors. From the Guide Working Party’s Foreword, it states 

“ This 3rd Edition to The Hong Kong Solicitors’ Guide to Professional Conduct (Volume 1) sets out 14 fundamental pillars of professional conduct, which have been revised by the Guide Working Party and approved by the Council of the Law Society”
