InfoLit in Law and KEEP law courses

There are many free law courses offered at KEEP (Knowledge & Education Exchange Platform).
KEEP is:
  • A personalized educational portal for users to easily search, subscribe and access content from the KEEP Cloud Ecosystem.
  • Supporting the development of innovative teaching and learning with cutting-edge technology.
  • Uncovering the most relevant results from different education resources.
To register/sign up for a course, please create your personal login first.
You may search "law" in KEEPSearch under "Courses" or KEEPCourse, and you will find a wide variety of courses that are related to the subject of Law. The courses are basically free of charge and offered by local and overseas universities.

CityU has created a literacy course named Discipline Module: InfoLit in Law. If you are not familiar with legal research in Hong Kong (and some steps also apply in legal research in general), you are highly recommended to join this Module. This Module is very useful and clearly laid out, and contains videos and quiz etc to help you start with legal research .

About InfoLit for U: Information Literacy MOOC
Do you know what is the most critical skill to a successful university study, conduct outstanding research, and your future careers?

It is all related to an important competence: Information Literacy (InfoLit, IL).
InfoLit for U, a self-paced, non-credit bearing MOOC designed by the library of all 8 UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong, is suitable for students in all years of undergraduate study.

Structure of this MOOC (1.5 - 2 hours per module)
The focal and the disciplinary modules of this MOOC are designed to help you become analytical, wise, and creative information user for effective learning at the university and tackle professional challenges after graduation.

Focal Module
In the focal module "Not only search skills: What is InfoLit for U study & career?"you will learn how to use information for university-level inquiry works through 5 sections:
  • Think & plan the "Info Needs" of your research
  • Don't find answers: Search for ideas to develop ideas
  • Not just filter: Evaluate ideas to form new ideas
  • Never list them: Connect ideas to create your own idea
  • Stay hungry: Join & learn from communities 
Discipline modules
The 8 discipline-related elective modules, each designed by our participating university respectively, dive deeper into the journey and help you find, evaluate, and create high-quality outputs for tasks relate to the following disciplines:
  • Arts & Humanities
  • Business & Economics
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Health Sciences
  • Law
  • Science
  • Social Sciences
Furthermore, you can obtain an achievement certificate issued by this MOOC if you successfully complete the “Check your understanding” questions of [the focal module +  at least 1 of the discipline-related modules] with 70% or above correct rate.

Requirements
This course is for all university students,as well as senior secondary students who want a smooth transition to learn at the university.
There is no entry requirement.
