Global Health and Human Rights Database

The Lee Quo Wei Law Library has added the following resource to the International Law webpage under the Selected Internet Resources.


The Global Health and Human Rights Database is a free law  database related to health and human rights worldwide. 

It has keyword search features, judgments by health topics, judgments by human rights, judgments by region, judgments by country, international bodies, regional bodies, national constitutions and international and regional instruments.

Criminal Law Week

The Library has subscribed to Criminal Law Week which is weekly publication of criminal law. It includes cases, legislation, and articles on criminal law. It also classifies the content by subject index.

Chinese Maritime and Commercial Law Reports

The Library has recently subscribed to the Chinese Maritime and Commercial Law Reports through the legal database Justis.
This law reports series provides English translation of selected Chinese cases. It also includes Supreme Court replies, important legislation and decrees, opinions and lectures from the Chinese judiciary, etc.

International Crimes Database (ICD)

The Lee Quo Wei Law Library has recently added the following resource to the International Law webpage under the Selected Internet Resources.

The ICD website, hosted and maintained by the T.M.C. Asser Instituut in The Hague and supported by the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice and the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism - The Hague, offers a comprehensive database on international crimes adjudicated by national, as well as international and internationalized courts.

PLC (Practical Law) – New China Module

The database PLC (Practical Law) provides legal content on various subject areas with practice notes and other added content. It has recently launched a new China module in the Core Countries category which contains in-depth country services for United Kingdom, United States and China.
The PLC also provides legal content for other countries and regions, such as Australia, India, EU law etc.

The Lee Quo Wei Law Library has recently added the following resource to its Selected Internet Resources webpage.
The Digital Commons Network provides free access to full-text scholarly articles and other research from hundreds of universities and colleges worldwide. Curated by university librarians and their supporting institutions, this dynamic research tool includes peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, working papers, conference proceedings, and other original scholarly work.

The Chinese Journal of Comparative Law

The Chinese Journal of Comparative Law is a new journal which is published in 2013 by the Oxford University Press, the International Academy of Comparative Law and the Silk Road Institute for International and Comparative Law at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. The issues in 2013 are freely available online at the Oxford University Press website. The library has recently added this journal to the library catalogue and its E-Journals Portal
The Chinese Journal of Comparative Law focuses on comparative studies on all discipline of law, especially the development of the Chinese legal system and the developing world.

United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea Online & International Maritime Boundaries Online

The library has recently subscribed to United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea Online and International Maritime Boundaries Online.
United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea Online provides commentaries which are based on the formal and informal documentation of the Third United nations Conference on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS III1973-1982).
International Maritime Boundaries Online is the guide to international maritime boundaries including expert analysis and agreements.

The library has newly subscribed to Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law. It is available on the Oxford Public International Law platform.
Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law provides full text of reference works and treaties published by Oxford University Press, such as Oppenheim’s International Law, Oxford Commentaries on International Law series, Oxford International Law Library series, etc.
It provides full text searching and content can also be browsed by author, title and subject.

Faculty of Law Legal Citation Style Guide

The Lee Quo Wei Law Library has updated the Faculty of Law Legal Citation Style Guide on its website under the heading Information Guides & Subject Guides . The latest version is the Version 16 (August 2013).
This guide outlines citation style for commonly used legal resources. A list of further readings is provided at the end of this guide.  

Version 16 has added the table of content and has provided more material types and examples on secondary sources such as Annotated Ordinances, Government Press Release and TV Programmes and News Reports etc.

The print copies of this guide are also available at the Lee Quo Wei Law Library and the Legal Resources Centre in the Graduate Law Centre.

The publication China Law Reference Service has been discontinued. They have developed a new platform called China Law & Reference.
